National and local efforts have afforded increased attention to LGBTQ+ health and well-being, but this research often emphasises those identifying as gay/lesbian or bisexual, excluding those identifying as trans or non-binary.
We want to capture the experiences of our trans community members in Lewisham by asking them questions about their interactions with mental health, sexual health, GP services, and other health services. All interviews will be conducted by members of the trans community.
To be considered, you should identify as trans or non-binary and either live in the borough, or access health services in the borough. You will receive £20 for your time. With recent funding, we are looking for spaces to conduct the interviews as well as open to anyone who would like to get involved in the research project.
If you are interested, please send us an email at INFO@healthwatchlewisham.co.uk and we can organize a session!

Each quarter, we publish the experiences of patients that we have gathered. This helps us to see trends in care compared to previous months.
We have seen an increase in the percentage of people sharing positive feedback about GPs in the Borough and, in a similar trend, the feedback on hospital services is more positive at the end of the year than the start of the year.
The experience of Dental services is also more positive at the end of the year, albeit dropping slightly from a high in Q3.
Positive experiences of pharmacy services have increased significantly, by 20% over the course of the year, experiencing quarter upon quarter improvement and, although lower in number, Optician service feedback has increased to 80% positive feedback.

Since 2020, the landscape of ophthalmology provision within South East London has changed – with an increased NHS service offering from Independent Sector Providers. SEL ICB are seeking feedback from persons with lived experience about their care pathway within Independent Sector Providers. As such, the ICB has put together an ophthalmology survey for those who have had a procedure at a South East London Independent Sector Provider in the past year. This includes SpaMedica, Community Health and Eyecare and Circle Health Group.
The aim on the survey is to ensure there is a patient voice throughout the future service development work the ICB undertakes, and that any common themes of service improvement can be picked up directly in order to secure delivery of quality care.
If you have had an Ophthalmic procedure, such as cataracts, at a South East London Independent Sector Provider in the last year please could you fill out the following survey:
