Annual Report 2024/2024
Patient Experience Programme
We collected nearly 1000 responses, slightly under our Q2 figures and quarterly target but still an improvement on overall PE figures from 2022/23. Our PE Programme Officer left her post, and our new Officer came into mid-way through the quarter. Despite these staff changes, our new Officer has hit the ground running, and we expect numbers to increase as his expertise and experience develop.
Research and engagement/involvement projects
Our main work this quarter revolved around our Trans health study. During Q3 we built on our project initiation work in Q2 that outlined our intent to do a combination of focus groups and interviews with trans and genderdiverse community members. We put together a steering committee of individuals with lived experience to collaborate on all aspects of the project. With our steering committee, we finalised recruitment materials and recruited both online and in-person through various partners and professional and personal networks. We attended several events to recruit in-person as well. During Q4, we will conduct interviews/focus groups and write our report.
Proud to Care and Maximising Wellbeing projects – Healthwatch elements remain on hold as we await lists of people to contact from partners. The issue has been escalated and commissioner support is underway to resolve, in order for us to progress.
Enter & View
Powell ward and Wharton ward reports, as well as an executive summary of the two visits, were published this quarter. We still await a response from the Powell ward after chasing, and we have escalated our request with contacts at SLaM.
During Q3, we also conducted an Enter & View at Brownhill Lodge Care Home, in line with our focus on dementia care. We have written up our report and are awaiting response to recommendations.
Communications
This quarter we published a newsletter and highlighted involvement opportunities from several partners as well as important messages including: free mental health workshops, new surveys for autistic adults and their carers, the NHS Trust Charity’s Christmas Toy Appeal, Carers Rights Day, and activism campaigns against gender-based violence
